Gas and Bloating

We all have gas in our Stomach and intestines. Gas can contribute to a sense of bloating (fullness), abdominal cramps, belching and increased flatulence (gas).

  • Swallowing of air during the process of eating.
  • Drinking carbonated beverages such as soda or colas
  • Lactose intolerance
  • Bacterial overgrowth
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Prior history of abdominal surgery.
  • Multiple preganancies
  • Patients should eliminate foods such as cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, beans.
  • Milk and other dairy foods (except curd) should be avoided.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks
  • Antibiotics in case of bacterial overgrowth.
